Stafford Christmas Lights 2007

For the first time ever I decided to go along to the turning on of the christmas lights in my town. I will take some pictures of the lights tomorrow night, as I was being bumped and jostled by a lot of rude people. Now you know why I rarely venture out to these events. Other than that it was a great event. We had Homer and Bart Simpson turning on the lights.

Here are the best of the pictures

Bankruptcy Diary – Day 23/24

Another double entry. It seems since the OR interview things have started to slow down again. I received yet another letter from Natwest, don’t you think their legal obligations seem they have to have their brains removed, it is exactly the same letter they sent me to weeks ago albeit with a different date on it, why waste their money sending it and waste my time reading it.

I think now is the time to turn this blog back over to its original goal, I don’t feel much more is going to happen now. As soon as it does I will make an entry.

Thanks for taking the time to read this even though it seems to have been mainly a rant over the last three weeks and the same old boring stuff.

Bankruptcy Diary – Day 22

Okay here is an entry in its own right for Day 22.

I wasn’t going to say anything about the couple of incidences that made my blood boil, but I am now going to tell you because it is context of what is happening at the moment.

Over the past couple of weeks I have been working for a new employment agency. The work is ok and the time sheets have been easy to sort out. Getting paid my wages was another matter completely, so 2 weeks in a row they managed to mess up the method of payment.

The 1st time around they issued me a cheque, my surname was spelt incorrectly so I wouldn’t have been able to cash it, then because I said I needed the money urgently they decided to give me cash which they decided to charge me £10 for, fair enough I thought, at least I’ve got my money.

Well last week I checked my bank account to see if my wages had been paid in, they hadn’t, so I rang them up and asked them where my wages were. They told me I had already been paid, erm no I hadn’t the cash I was given was instead of the cheque they had messed up, they said they would look into it. So 10 minutes later they left me a message saying that they realised their mistake and were going to pay the money into my bank account, did that go right, no it didn’t!!!

Despite me giving them my new bank details they still managed to pay my wages into one of my Halifax accounts which had already been closed!!! I had only discovered what had happened when I spoke to their representative on the Monday evening. So some more phonecalls went backwards and forwards and on Tuesday I got a phone call back saying that I would be able to withdraw the money from Halifax if I got the official receiver to send Halifax a letter saying that the money deposited was a mistake and they are to release the funds to me. What a runaround for something that wasn’t my fault.

So whilst I was getting ready for work I had a phone call from the official receiver saying that yes they would be sending a letter to halifax saying to release the money to me in the form of a cheque.

So how long is this going to take I’m wondering, why is it you always pay for someone else’s incompetence?

I have been assured that this week’s wages are going into the correct account. I’m not going to hold my breath. I have lost faith with my employment agency, they are going to have to go a long way in redeeming themselves in my eyes.

Bankruptcy Diary – Day 21/22

Another double entry as I missed an entry yesterday.

Thought it was too good to be true regarding my council tax, received a letter from them yesterday saying I still owed £165.17 for this year.

Also received yet another letter from halifax card services they are already well aware of my situation.

A letter from npower saying I’m in arrears of £31 which is a load of cobblers as I have been keeping up my payments, they seem to be making up the bills as they go along.

The TV Licensing people refused my online bank details so sent me a paper form, just wondering what the point is in them having an online form to fill out if they still insist on me filling out a paper copy, so I’ve had to waste a 2nd class stamp to send the form back.

I also have a sore throat!!!

Bankruptcy Diary – Day 20

Well today was the big day, I had my official receiver interview, some parts I felt didn’t go as well as I thought they might do. I’m still going to have to pay some money back to my creditors via the official receiver, but far less than if I hadn’t gone bankrupt.

I have also been told I can keep my possessions which is good news for me as I can keep my car, so I do not have to rely on public transport.

Banckruptcy Diary – Day 19

Well what a day.

Had to phone my local council this morning about my council tax. They had sent me a letter saying my arrangement with them had been cancelled, they explained to me that was because I had been made bankrupt so the debt I had has been rolled up into it and not to worry about the letter. As soon as the benefits side has been sorted out, I’ll receive a letter from them with a new account no and a new agreement, a clean slate as it were.

Something else happened today, I will post about it if it doesn’t get sorted to my satisfaction. I might reveal all at a later date if I can remember the details.

Bankruptcy Diary Day 16/17

A combined one for yesterday and today. Nothing much happened yesterday apart from a grumbling back that prevented me from doing much.

Things seem to be ticking over at a steady rate, my official receiver interview is now looming up large. Just started making up a lever arch file so I can keep everything stored in one place, will make a difference from my usual filing system.

Banckruptcy Diary – Day 16

Had letters this morning from Halifax and Barclays confirming that my accounts are now closed, just waiting for natwest, barclaycard and halifax card services to get back to me and that’s the major creditors out of the way.

Looks like some forward progress is being made again, lets get this juggernaught rolling again.

Bankruptcy Diary – Day 15

It appears that all of my old bank accounts have now been closed. They must have received the letters from my Official Receiver.

Also received a letter from Natwest this morning, telling me that they are aware of my bankruptcy order, because I told them, they wanted the details of the bankruptcy order, going to send a letter off to them tomorrow.
